Frame and horizon
The long architectural frame gathers interior life while preserving the expansive scale of the desert.
Proposed Desert Retreat · Joshua Tree
A frame for life in the desert—an elongated residence shaped by horizon, silence, shade and the changing western sky.

Life held between earth and sky
SunEver is conceived as a long, precise frame placed lightly on a gentle west-facing slope. Living spaces stretch toward sunset and distant mountains, while deep overhangs, screened courts and narrow openings respond to desert heat, light and privacy.
A wood-lined entry court joins the main residence to the garage and circular outdoor room. Beyond it, glass living spaces open to the cantilevered pool deck, making daily movement a sequence between enclosure, shade, water and the vast desert horizon.

Wood screens, courtyards and shaded passages soften the transition from open land to private rooms.
Solar roofs and a projecting pool deck respond to climate while orienting life toward the western sky.

Frame of life in the desert
SunEver is not an object placed in the desert. It is a frame through which the desert becomes part of everyday life.
