A holistic hillside transformation · Beverly Hills

A house transformed through one continuous design idea.
The Readcrest presentation examines the project beyond its completed image. It begins with the inherited hillside structure, the owners’ aspirations, the architect’s vision and regulatory constraints, then follows the decisions that transformed the existing house.
A holistic approach connects structure, movement, material, light, landscape and daily life. The result is not a collection of additions, but a unified environment shaped around human experience and the Beverly Hills hillside.
Architecture, landscape, structure and daily life are considered as one interdependent system.
Existing conditions become the basis for removal, relocation and carefully targeted additions.
Movement, framed views, material and light connect the body emotionally to the hillside.
