A complete transformation within the existing building envelope, preserving the established height while opening the house to ocean light, garden and daily life.
Transformation without expansion of the envelope
The project reworked the existing residence as a major remodel while retaining its established envelope and height. This disciplined approach allowed the work to qualify for exemption from Planning and Coastal review.
Inside, spaces were clarified and connected through long views, skylight and large openings toward the ocean. The renewed house extends naturally into terraces, garden rooms and a series of sheltered outdoor places.
